How To: Automatically Start DriveWorks Live

DriveWorks Live can automatically start (when the host machine is restarted) by running it through Internet Information Services (IIS).

IIS runs as a service which allows Windows services to be configured to start up automatically.

Running DriveWorks Live through IIS has many benefits, including:

  • Faster transmission times
  • The host machine requires to be running (not logged on) to run a service

IIS runs under the World Wide Web Publishing Service.

To check if this services is installed and running:

  1. From the Windows search bar, type Services.
  2. Click the Services App to launch.
  3. Select Services (local) from the pane on the left of the Services window.
  4. Locate World Wide Web Publishing Service from the Services list.
  5. Ensure the Status is Running and the Startup Type is Automatic.

If the World Wide Web Publishing Service is not listed please install IIS.

Please refer to Configuring DriveWorksLive for IIS for more information on how to host a DriveWorks Live site in IIS.
