Export STL

Exports the current model as a STL file.

Properties

Export Location
File DirectoryThe directory to export the file to. Leave blank to export to the components folder.
File ExtensionThe extension of the exported file, stl as default.
File NameThe name of the exported file. Leave blank to use the components name.
OverwriteTrue to overwrite the file if it exists, False to keep existing file.
General
(Name)The unique name for this task.
Options
Prevent STL TranslationTrue to prevent translating STL output data to positive space.
Single FileTrue to save all components of an assembly in a single file.
Output As
Output FormatThe ouput format for the exported file. Choose from Binary or ASCII.
UnitsThe units for the exported file. Choose from Millimeters, Centimeters, Meters, Inches, Feet.

Generation Sequence

This Task can be added to the following Generation Sequence(s):

  • Pre Drive (will be run before the Main Drive Sequence)
  • Post Drive (will be run after the Main Drive Sequence)
  • Pre Close (will be run before the SOLIDWORKS file is closed)
