Open Project Wizard

The Open Project Wizard can be launched from:

The Title Bar
Once a Project is open the Close Project option is available.
When a Project is already open the name is displayed in Bold in the Project drop down list.
The Command Bar
Once a Project is open the Close Project option becomes available.

The Open Project wizard is used to open an existing Project from an opened Group.

The Open Project wizard enables you to open an existing Project from the Group.

Select the Project from the list.
Click Finish.
Double clicking an item in the list will select that item and advance to the next step of the wizard.

.Driveprojx files will NOT open if they are ReadOnly.

If an attempt to open the ReadOnly Project is made, then this error message will be displayed.

The same Project cannot be opened more than once.

If an attempt to open the Project is made the following message is displayed.

The message details:

The DriveWorks User who has the Project open (as defined in SecuritySettings)
The name of the machine where the Project is open.
The name of the lock file that is preventing the Project to be opened.
The location of the lock file.

There may be various reasons a lock file has not been released by closing a Project.

If this is preventing the Project from opening, and the Project is not being edited by another user, the lock file can be manually deleted by the administrator of the DriveWorks Project.

Projects can be opened by dragging the file, from Windows Explorer, into the application.

Filter the Project List

If the Group contains many Projects the list can be filtered by entering the filter criteria in the filter box.

Filtering is based on location and name.

Project Settings

Each Project can have settings applied that define behaviors for the actual Project and the Specifications produced from it.

To change settings for a Project:

Open the required Project.
Click the Settings button from the Title Bar of DriveWorks Administrator.
Select Project Settings from the Settings dialog.

Delete a Project

To delete a Project from a Group, use the Data Management tool.
