Open Project Wizard

The Open Project Wizard can be launched from:

  • The Title Bar

Once a Project is open the Close Project option is available.
When a Project is already open the name is displayed in Bold in the Project drop down list.

  • The Command Bar

Once a Project is open the Close Project option is available.

The Open Project wizard is used to open an existing Project from the opened Group.

The open project wizard enables you to open an existing project from the group.

  1. Select the Project from the list.
  2. Click Finish.
The same Project cannot be open more than once.

If an attempt to open the Project is made the following message is displayed.

The message details:

  • The DriveWorks User who has the Project open (as defined in SecuritySettings)
  • The name of the machine where the Project is open.
  • The name of the lock file that is preventing the Project to be opened.
  • The location of the lock file.

There may be various reasons a lock file has not been released by closing a project.

If this is preventing the Project from opening, and the Project is not being edited by another user, the lock file can be manually deleted by the administrator of the DriveWorks Project.

Filter the Project List

If the Group contains many Projects the list can be filtered by entering the filter criteria in the filter box.

Filtering is based on location and name.

Please see the topic How To Use Filters for more advanced filtering information.

  3. Select Project Settings from the Settings dialog.

Please see Project Settings for more information.
