DriveWorks Pro Server - Clear Cache

If you have been using DriveWorks 23 Pro Server to see the new DriveWorks 24 Pro Server features you may need to clear your browser's cached files.

To confirm if this is required you can access DriveWorks Pro Server in an Incognito/In Private browser.

If this displays the new features correctly this confirms browser caching needs to be cleared.

This can be done by pressing Ctrl + F5 when on the Pro Server site, or you may need to consult the browser's documentation.

DriveWorks CPQ DriveApp

DriveWorks 24 introduces the new CPQ Sales Portal solution.

The CPQ DriveApp for DriveWorks 24 is required to be downloaded separately.

To download the CPQ DriveApp:

Go to https://my.driveworks.co.uk/software/plugins/
Login with your DriveWorks Pro account credentials (if asked)
Locate the CPQ DriveApp and click the Download button.

SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional Plugin Logging Verbosity

Using Diagnostic logging verbosity in a production environment is not recommended.

From DriveWorks 24 onwards, the Autopilot log will display the following warning and description when Logging Verbosity is set to Diagnostic:

The PDM Logging Level is set to Diagnostic. This is not recommended in a Production Environment unless diagnosing a specific issue.

Project Editions

We've added a new feature to DriveWorks 24 - Project Editions.

We take our commitment to backward compatibility very seriously at DriveWorks, and this sometimes prevents us from changing surprising behavior or even fixing bugs that people may have come to rely on. Project Editions enable us to evolve DriveWorks whilst upholding that commitment.

If we need to make a change to behavior that could impact existing projects or specifications, we can define a new Project Edition. Any existing projects or specifications will keep their existing behavior, and the updated behavior can be evaluated by changing the edition of a project in project settings in a controlled manner. Any new projects will get the latest edition by default.

The edition of a project can be changed any time in Project Settings.

In this release, we have defined two editions, the first, called 2025-09 represents the behavior of DriveWorks before DriveWorks 24.0, and the second called 2026-08 contains a single change for the DriveWorks 24.0 release.

During testing, we discovered that there was an inconsistency when DriveWorks converts dates to text, if converting a date with no time component, we would convert using the user's current regional settings, however, if it had a time component, we would convert using what we call invariant settings. For users in the USA, these look the same, but users around the world, this is not the case. Changing this could break existing implementations, and so the old behavior is maintained under 2025-09, and fixed in 2026-08.
