Business objects - Package Modifiers

Overview

Business object package modifiers are custom modifications to the business objects contained within a business object package.

A modifier can be used to add new attributes to an existing business object.

Package modifier template

To add modifiers to a package, you must upload an XML file that contains information about the modifications that you would like to make.

The package modifier template can be downloaded by editing a package from the Business Object administration web interface, selecting View Package Modifiers, and then clicking the Package Modifier Template (.xml) button.

Making modifications

A package can be modified in the following ways:

• Attributes can be added to existing business objects within the package.

See the package modifier template XML for information on the structure and syntax required for creating modifications.

Restrictions to modifications

The original package that is being modified may have restrictions in place to prevent modifications to certain business objects.

You can view the CPQ Package (the package used by the CPQ Sales Portal) by clicking Export in the Actions column of the packages table.
