This section is specific to the DriveWorks CPQ Sales Portal for DriveWorks CPQ DriveApp please see Introduction to the DriveWorks CPQ DriveApp.

Group Initialization

A DriveWorks Group must be initialized for the CPQ Sales Portal module to be accessible.

Initialization adds the CPQ business object package to the selected group and enables specific features relevant to the CPQ Sales Portal module.

Pro Server elevation is required to initialize the CPQ Sales Portal within a Shared Group.

Once a Group has been initialized, the process cannot be undone.

Requirements

Initialization can only be triggered inside a Group with an active DriveWorks CPQ Sales Portal system administrator license.

Without a user assigned a CPQ Sales Portal system administrator license

With a user assigned a CPQ Sales Portal system administrator license

Initialization process

After selecting to initialize a group, the user will be asked to confirm the action.

They will then be asked whether they would like to create several security roles to give access to the business objects within the CPQ package, as well as the localization packages that are also added alongside the business objects. New roles can be created with the relevant permissions, or existing roles can be used and modified.

The permissions given via these roles allow universal access to all business objects, localization packages, and locales. These roles should only be used for administrator level users.

Users can choose whether to create a new team or use an existing team.

If a new team is created, the logged-in user will be added to this team and given the created or modified roles.

If an existing team is specified, and the logged-in user is not in that team, they will not be added to the team automatically.
