DriveWorks 24 SP1 Information

Innovation and continuous improvement underpin our team's approach to software development.

Along with the development of new features and enhancements for the next major version, we are committed to making each version robust and compatible with all the latest releases of software that DriveWorks interacts with.

Web Theme Standalone Installer

From DriveWorks 24.1 onwards the Web Theme is available as a separate download and installer.

When upgrading from DriveWorks 24.0 the Web Theme will be removed (as part of uninstalling the old version).

The new version will require downloading and installing separately after DriveWorks 24.1 has been installed.

Customizations applied to files in the \custom folder will be retained.

System Color Conversion

From DriveWorks 24.1 onwards, any color property that references a System color (for example ControlText) will be automatically converted to a hex color when rendered on a Form (for example #000000).

This ensures system colors render the same color across desktop, all browsers and all color schemes (light/dark).

Prior to this release, system colors were automatically converted from the .NET system color (for example ControlText) to the matching CSS system color (for example buttontext).

Using a tilde (~) prefix with any system color (for example ~ControlText) will restore the previous functionality.

This applies to the following:

  • Form Controls - Any Color property (for example Background Color, Caption Color, etc.)
  • User form - Background Color property.
  • [color] tag used to format text presented in a form control.

The system color name will still be shown in the Property Grid, the conversion occurs automatically in the background.

See System Color Conversion for more information.

DriveWorks Pro Server Database

This release introduces a change to the Pro Server Database that requires any existing Pro Server database to be upgraded.

Once the DriveWorks Pro Server database is selected the Upgrade Database button will become active, see Management Console - Upgrade Database for more information.

Upgrading the Pro Server Database is permanent, we recommend taking a backup of the DriveWorks Pro Server database before upgrading.

See How To: Backup a SQL Server Database for information.

SOLIDWORKS for Design Automation

DriveWorks 24 SP1 fully supports SOLIDWORKS 2027 in addition to SOLIDWORKS 2026, SOLIDWORKS 2025 and SOLIDWORKS 2024.

SOLIDWORKS 2027 and 2026 requires the system option Legacy Appearances to be applied when driving a parts Color or Texture.

See Info: SOLIDWORKS System Options for more information.
