Copy Folder

The Copy Folder task will copy or move an existing folder to a new location.

Properties

Property NameDescription
SourceThe path to source folder.
DestinationThe path to destination folder.
MoveTRUE to move the folder, FALSE to copy it.
OverwriteTRUE to overwrite the destination folder if it already exists, FALSE to leave it alone.
TitleChanges the Title (not the name) of the task.
If the new location does not exist the task will create the folder structure as applied to the Destination property (if valid).

Examples

When this task is added the properties are static by default.
See How To: Change A Static Property To A Dynamic Property to enable rules to be built on these properties.

Property nameExample ruleExample resultMeaning
Source"[Machine Name]\Content\" & DWVariableFolderName[Machine Name]\Content\CopyFolderDriveWorks evaluates the rule and concatenates specified folder location text and folder name variable to identify the source folder.
Destination"[Machine Name]\" & DWVariableGeneratedFolder[Machine Name]\GeneratedDriveWorks evaluates the rule and concatenates specified folder location text and folder name variable to create the destination folder path.
MoveMoveFolderReturnTrueIf MoveFolderReturn=True, the folder would be moved to the new designated location, otherwise a copy of the folder would be made in the new location.
OverwriteOverwriteFolderReturnTrueIf the value coming from the Form Control OverwriteFolder is TRUE, the folder would replace any existing folder in the designated location with the same name, otherwise the folder would be copied/moved into the designated location as long as no folder with that name already existed.
