The Save 3D Document task will save a DriveWorks 3D Document used in a 3D Preview Control back to the Specification.
The following Specification Macro Tasks work on a 3D Document in a 3D Preview Control:
You can think of these task as working on an in memory (not committed to disk) version of the 3D Document.
The Save 3D Document task will take that in memory version and store it in the Specification.
Having the task function this way is more performant.
Reopening a Specification will display the 3D Document as it was when the Save 3D Document Task was executed.
The resulting 3D Document can be saved to disk when needed by using the Release Documents Task.
