The Create Linear Component Pattern Generation Task will create a Linear Component Pattern of a Part or Sub-Assembly in an Assembly.
Property Name | Description | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
(Name) | The unique name for this task. | ||||
Direction 1 Quantity | Pattern quantity for Direction 1 | ||||
Direction 1 Spacing | Pattern spacing for Direction 1 | ||||
First Face, Plane or Axis | The name of the first direction reference face, plane or axis | ||||
First Reference Type | The type of the first reference (Plane, Axis, NamedFace). Direction is along an axis or normal to a face or plane. | ||||
Flip Direction 1 | True or False. True to reverse the direction, False to not. Default is False | ||||
Direction 2 Quantity | Pattern quantity for Direction 2 | ||||
Direction 2 Spacing | Pattern spacing for Direction 2 | ||||
Second Face, Plane or Axis | The name of the second direction reference face, plane or axis | ||||
Second Reference Type | The type of the second reference (Plane, Axis, NamedFace). Direction is along an axis or normal to a face or plane. | ||||
Flip Direction 2 | True or False. True to reverse the direction, False to not. Default is False | ||||
Component To Pattern | The name of the component instance to pattern for example Part-1@Assembly or Part-1 (pipe bar (|) delimit
the component names if there is more than one).
Order Of Instance The instance order in the SOLIDWORKS feature manager does not necessarily follow the order DriveWorks recognizes. DriveWorks requires the Instance number to be taken from the order it is listed in the SOLIDWORKS Feature Manager. For example:
If you are unsure of the instance ordering, the DriveWorks capture assistant will indicate the order through Captured Parameter Highlighting. In the image below Flange <5> in the SOLIDWORKS feature manager is Instance 1 to DriveWorks. Captured Parameter Highlighting indicates the instance parameter in the DriveWorks capture assistant, on the model AND in the SOLIDWORKS feature manager. |
When this task is added the properties are both static and dynamic by default.
See How To: Change A
Static Property To A Dynamic Property to enable rules to be built on these properties.
Property Name | Example Rule | Example Result | Meaning |
---|---|---|---|
Direction 1 Quantity | 5 | 5 | Pattern Quantity for Direction 1. |
Direction 1 Spacing | 20 | 20 | Pattern Spacing for Direction 1. |
First Face, Plane or Axis | "Right Plane" | Right Plane | The name of the first direction reference Face, Plane or Axis.
Named Faces When using Named Faces as the Reference Type, please see How To: Name And Write Rules For A Face Or Plane In A SOLIDWORKS Part for information on how to create a Named Face and examples of how to build rules that reference them. |
First Reference Type | Plane | Plane | The Reference type selected from the dropdown menu (Plane, Axis or Named Face). |
Flip Direction | FALSE | FALSE | Will not reverse the Direction. |
Direction 2 Quantity | 3 | 3 | Pattern Quantity for Direction 2. |
Direction 2 Spacing | 40 | 40 | Pattern Spacing for Direction 2. |
Second Face, Plane or Axis | "RightPlane" | Right Plane | The name of the second direction reference Face, Plane or Axis.
Named Faces When using Named Faces as the Reference Type, please see How To: Name And Write Rules For A Face Or Plane In A SOLIDWORKS Part for information on how to create a Named Face and examples of how to build rules that reference them. |
Second Reference Type | Plane | Plane | The Reference type selected from the drop down menu (Plane, Axis or Named Face). |
Flip Direction | TRUE | TRUE | Will reverse the Direction. |
Component To Pattern | {Model File Name Result}&"-"&{Component to pattern SOLIDWORKS Instance Number} | "Block "&DWSpecificationId&"-1" | The name of the component to pattern |
