This Generation Task is used to drive a dimension tolerance's upper and lower limits in a Part, Assembly or Drawing.
This Task requires the dimension being driven to have a tolerance applied to the dimension in the master.
To drive Tolerance Limits in a Parts or Assemblies use Drive Dimension Tolerance Limits (standard Task available from the Part & Assembly category).
To drive Tolerance Limits in a Drawings use this SOLIDWORKS PowerPack version.
Property Name | Description |
---|---|
(Name) | The unique name for this task. |
Dimension Name | The name of the dimension that will be driven. |
Dimension Lower Limit | The New Lower Limit value for the dimension being driven. This value is in model units. |
Dimension Upper Limit | The New Upper Limit value for the dimension being driven. This value is in model units. |
When this task is added the properties are both static by default. See How To: Change A Static Property To A Dynamic Property to enable rules to be built on these properties.
Property Name | Example Rule | Example Result | Meaning |
---|---|---|---|
Dimension Name | "D1@Plane1" | D1@Plane1 | This is the name of the dimension on which to set the dimension tolerance limits. |
Dimension Lower Limit | -0.25 | -0.25 | This will set the lower limit to -0.25mm if the model units are set to mm. |
Dimension Upper Limit | 0.5 | 0.5 | This will set the upper limit to 0.5mm if the model units are set to mm. |
Property Name | Example Rule | Example Result | Meaning |
---|---|---|---|
Dimension Name | "D1@Sketch3" | D1@Sketch31 | This is the name of the dimension on which to set the dimension tolerance limits. |
Dimension Lower Limit | This property is not needed for a Symmetric tolerance. | ||
Dimension Upper Limit | 0.50 | ±0.50 | This will set the upper limit to 0.5mm if the model units are set to mm. |
Other tolerance types can also be used with this task.
