Specification Macros Nodes have different types of property editors depending on which properties are included within each Node. The different types of editors are:
To change a static property to a dynamic one you have to double click on the equation Icon on the lefthand side of the property. This then allows you to build rules in that property.
The property window will now be green. Double click the ellipsis ... button to start the Rule Builder.
The Text property editor works like other text properties where you can simply type in your value. This will be a static value.
The Numeric property is used where a task needs a numeric value. For example a Specification Id. This will be a static value.
The Dropdown is used when selecting items that exist in the Project or Group. Examples would be Tables or Macro names. This will be a static value.
The Boolean property will give either a result of TRUE or FALSE depending on whether you check the checkbox. This will be a static value.
The Array property is used when a Node uses table data in it. An example Task where this property is used is Update Group Table Using Array. This will be a static value.
The File property is used when a Node uses a File such as specifying the source File. This will be a static value. To pick the File you want to use simply click on the File Icon on the righthand side of the property and this will open up a File Explorer window to allow you to browse for the File you wish to use.
The Folder property is used when a Node uses a Folder such as specifying a folder location for a File to be saved into. This will be a static value. To pick the Folder you want to use simply click on the Folder Icon on the righthand side of the property and this will open up a File Explorer window to allow you to browse for the Folder location you wish to use.
The Image property is used when a Node uses an Image File. For example this might be providing the Image as a source Image for a Task. To pick the Image you want to use simply click on the File Icon on the righthand side of the property and this will open up a File Explorer window to allow you to browse for the Image you wish to use.
When you make properties dynamic it allows you to create rules for those properties. To build a rule on the property either click the ellipsis ... button that appears on the right hand side of the property or type directly into the property.
