The Point Light entity lights a scene from a point within the 3D scene and emits light out in all directions evenly. This entity adds a Point Light to the node it is applied to.
With a Point Light the light intensity reduces with distance from the light source. Point Lights are useful for simulating lamps and sources of light within a scene.
Point Lights need to be positioned in the 3D Scene. When added to a node, you need to move the node into the position you require. Direction does not need to be taken into account because it will emit light in all directions from the nodes center.
The only factors that matter are the lights intensity, color and how quickly the light diminishes/disappears.
Use the Transform properties on the node to move the node triad and Point Light into the correct position.
With the model node selected and the Point Light entity added to the node, the following will be displayed in the Information Panel:
Color
The color will change based on the values of the properties below. Color will show you the color of the light you are creating.
Red Intensity
Red Intensity controls how much red will be in the light source. Enter a number from 0 to 1
Green Intensity
Green Intensity controls how much green will be in the light source. Enter a number from 0 to 1
Blue Intensity
Blue Intensity controls how much blue will be in the light source. Enter a number from 0 to 1
Intensity
Intensity (brightness) controls how bright the light will be. The higher the number, the brighter the light source. Enter any number in this property to change the intensity.
Falloff Exponent
The Falloff Exponent is how quickly the light diminishes/disappears from the light source. The falloff exponent is used in the lighting calculation.
With the model node selected and the Point Light entity added to the node, the following will be displayed in the Parameter Panel:
