What's New DriveWorks Data Management Tool

The DriveWorks Data Management Tool see's many new features and enhancements for DriveWorks 8, including:

  • Performance
  • Loading Progress
  • Selection Preservation
  • Multi-selection
  • Import Components
  • Copy Projects
  • Command Bar

Performance

Data is now loaded into the viewing window much quicker than previous versions.

Loading Progress

The data management tool now displays a progress indicator while loading data into the main window.

Selection Preservation

Selections made in the display window of any of the tasks are preserved when switching between tasks.

Multi Select

Import Components

Components and all parameters captured from them can now be imported into the current group using the DriveWorks Data Management Tool. See Import Components for more information.

Copy Project

Projects can be copied within the same group using the DriveWorks Data Management Tool. See Copy Project for more information.

Command Bar

The DriveWorks Data Management command bar now holds all the available commands for the selected task.

Captured Information

The commands available from the captured information toolbar are:

  • Refresh - Refresh the information displayed about the captured information in the group.
  • Missing Files Only - Displays the captured information that is missing a reference only.
  • Expand Children - Expands the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Collapse Children - Collapses the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Show in Explorer - Opens Windows Explorer on the selected folder or captured information item.
  • Import Components - Imports captured information from a source group.
  • Change Location - Allows the selected folder or captured information item to have its referenced path changed.
  • Delete References - Removes the selected folder or captured information item from the group.

Projects

The commands available from the projects toolbar are:

  • Refresh - Refresh the information displayed about the projects in the group.
  • Missing Files Only - Displays the projects that are missing a reference only.
  • Expand Children - Expands the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Collapse Children - Collapses the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Show in Explorer - Opens Windows Explorer on the selected folder or project item.
  • Change Location - Allows the selected folder or project item to have its referenced path changed.
  • Copy Project - Copies the selected project to a new location and with a new name.
  • Delete References - Removes the selected folder or project item from the group.

Specification Information

The commands available from the specification information toolbar are:

  • Refresh - Refresh the information displayed about the specification information in the group.
  • Missing Files Only - Displays the specification information that is missing a reference only.
  • Expand Children - Expands the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Collapse Children - Collapses the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Show in Explorer - Opens Windows Explorer on the selected folder or specification information item.
  • Change Location - Allows the selected folder or specification information item to have its referenced path changed.
  • Delete - Removes the selected folder or specification information item from the group.

Released Files

The commands available from the released files toolbar are:

  • Refresh - Refresh the information displayed about the released files in the group.
  • Hide Ungenerated - Hides any released files that have not been generated from the list.
  • Hide Generated - Hides any released files that have been generated from the list.
  • Hide Failed - Hides any released files that have failed from the list.
  • Expand Children - Expands the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Collapse Children - Collapses the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Show in Explorer - Opens Windows Explorer on the selected folder or released files item.
  • Change Location - Allows the selected folder or released files item to have its referenced path changed.
  • Delete - Removes the selected folder or released files item from the group.

Released Master Files

The commands available from the released master files toolbar are:

  • Refresh - Refresh the information displayed about the released master files in the group.
  • Expand Children - Expands the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Collapse Children - Collapses the child folders of a selected parent folder.
  • Show in Explorer - Opens Windows Explorer on the selected folder or released master files item.
  • Change Location - Allows the selected folder or released master files item to have its referenced path changed.
