What's New in DriveWorks 17.1

DriveWorks 17.1 sees enhancements and new features in the following areas:

Usability & UX making implementing DriveWorks easier, quicker and more enjoyable than ever before

Enhanced realism, real-time 3D text, improved performance. Configure products and show complex designs in dynamic 3D with DriveWorks 3D

Usability and user experience improvements make implementing DriveWorks easier, quicker and more enjoyable than ever before.

  • Right click context menu available from the title bar of Specification Macro Tasks.

  • Cut, Copy, Paste and Rename added to the right click context menu for Specification Macro Tasks.

  • Status column added to License Management to indicate the status of each license.

  • The function CreateSpecificationById has been added to the client SDK of the Integration Theme.This endpoint will return a Specification object for a running specification.

  • Close Group and Close Project buttons added to the command bar.

  • Integration Theme - Update Constant Value endpoint and updateConstantValue client method now return the updated constant details.

  • Refresh button added to Security Settings to allow Security data to be updated when any Security Tasks are in use.

  • Descriptive message when Calculation Table name is too long.

  • Configuration files in Data Management - Copy Group will default to the name and location the file was opened from when saving changes.

  • Configuration files in Data Management - Pack and Go will default to the name and location the file was opened from when saving changes.

  • Reports (Specification and Generation) can be viewed while using DriveWorks.

  • Buttons to Open, Close and Create Groups and Projects are included on the DriveWorks Help section, of the Task Explorer, of applicable products (where relevant).

  • Pressing the Esc key will dismiss the Helper dialog on Specification Macro Nodes.

  • Renaming a Specification Macro Task is consistent with other areas. Clicking out of the title area will accept the renaming of the Task.

  • Vertical Pan added to Specification Macro Work Area.

  • Enhanced reporting when the Export Specification Data Task encounters any issues.

  • Delete icon for Specification Macro Connections moved closer to where the mouse would be.

  • Keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F opens the Search Rules dialog.

  • Invalid location or name message for a New Project is displayed on the dialog.

  • Model Insight dialog will cause the DriveWorks icon, on the Windows Taskbar, to flash when DriveWorks Administrator is interacted with.

  • The Comments tab of the Rule Builder displays Empty when there are no comments.

  • Show In Explorer option in the context menu of the Captured Models pane.

  • Hover over a Captured Model to display its location.

  • Delete key will remove a captured Drawing.

  • Transitioning multiple specifications from the Specification Explorer allows the action to be applied to all.

  • Double clicking a DriveWorks Solo project that launches DriveWorks Administrator warns that DriveWorks Solo projects cannot be opened in DriveWorks Pro.

  • Opening a Project, which is in use, gives message detailing the user and machine of where the Project is open.

  • Keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + T) toggles Test Mode in Form Design and Specification Explorer.

  • Improved message displayed when refreshing the information of a Child Project that may already be open.

  • Currently open Project is displayed in bold in the Open Project drop down list.

  • Improved description on error messages produced from Task execution caused by path errors.

  • Reports will never open minimized.

  • Personal Web Edition available from DriveWorks User.

  • DriveWorks Autopilot available from the Windows System Tray.

  • Incorrect credentials supplied for Group login presents an appropriate message.

  • Right click a document in the Specification Explorer to Show In Explorer.

  • When using Change Location to relocate a component in the Captured Information Task of Data Management, the browse dialog displays the name of the selected component.

  • DriveWorks Live License Manager displays real time information about the status of licenses.

  • Improved Reporting for DriveWorks Live Licensing in Windows Event Viewer.
