Virtualization and Remote Desktop

DriveWorks products are supported on virtual and remote environments as long as the guest operating system meets the requirements set out above.

However, when utilizing DriveWorks 3D (either with a DriveWorks 3D File or using the 3D Preview Box control) only the following operating systems are supported:

  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows Server 2016
The following operating systems are NOT supported in a virtual environment when using DriveWorks 3D:
  • Windows 7
  • Windows Server 2008

This is due to limitations of the operating systems when virtualized.

Also when utilizing the SOLIDWORKS capabilities of DriveWorks (for example Capture and Model Generation), please check SOLIDWORKS Support for Virtual Environments.
