View Buttons

The View Buttons View lets you Add, Edit and Delete Buttons from Views inside the DriveWorks CPQ Template. Here you can manage the buttons that appear on your Views. As well as adding buttons, you can also control what DriveWorks Teams can access them within the User Interface.

Location in the DriveWorks CPQ Template:

Dashboard > Admin Panel > View Buttons

View Button Types

There are two types of View Buttons in the DriveWorks CPQ Template. These are:

  • Dashboard Buttons

  • Menu Bar Buttons

Dashboard Views contain Dashboard Buttons where as any other View contains Menu Bar Buttons

Button Properties and Permissions

Properties

The following Properties can be set on a button.

Provide a description for the button. This is to help remind you what the button is for.

Description is used on a Dashboard Button as text below the name.

Add Contacts Button
Button Width (Pixels)This is the width of the button to show in pixels. This goes up in 5 pixel increments.100

This button grays out for Dashboard View buttons.

Permissions

Buttons can be hidden from certain Teams inside the DriveWorks CPQ Template. You can restrict a Teams access to certain areas.

Under the Permissions header, there are two lists. The one on the left is a list of all Teams within the Group and the list on the right is a list of Teams that have permission to this button.

Adding Permissions:

  1. Select a Team in the left hand list.
  2. Select Add to add it to the right hand list.
  3. Select Update Button to apply the changes.

Removing Permissions:

  1. Select a Team in the right hand list.
  2. Select Remove to remove the Team from the right hand list.
  3. Select Update Button to apply the changes.

Adding View Buttons

  1. Select a View on the left hand side. The button will be added to the View choose here.
  2. Select Add in the Menu Bar to add a button to this View.
  3. A form will appear for you to fill out. Use the property meanings above.
  4. Once filled out, select Add Button to add the button.
Pictures cannot be added to a button until it has been added to the CPQ solution. Edit the button to add pictures.

Editing View Buttons

  1. Select a View on the left hand side.
  2. Select a Button from the Data Table on the right.
  3. Select Edit from the Menu Bar.
  4. Modify the buttons properties and permissions in the form shown.
  5. Select Update Button to apply your changes.

Deleting View Buttons

  1. Select a View on the left hand side.
  2. Select a Button from the Data Table on the right.
  3. Select Edit from the Menu Bar.
  4. Select Delete Button, at the bottom of the buttons properties and permissions.
  5. The button will be removed.

Uploading Button Images

Once a button has been added to the CPQ system, you can add Images to the button.

Button Images:

  • Menu Bar Buttons have a maximum of 3 button images that can be uploaded.
  • Dashboard Buttons have a maximum of 4 button images that can be uploaded.

Menu Bar Buttons

Available Images:

  • Button Picture - the main picture shown on the Macro Button.
  • Hover Picture - the picture shown when the mouse hovers over the Macro Button.
  • Pressed Picture - the picture shown when the mouse presses the Macro Button.

Dashboard Buttons

Available Images:

  • Background Picture - a small picture used next to name and description on a Dashboard button.
  • Button Picture - the main picture shown on the Macro Button.
  • Hover Picture - the picture shown when the mouse hovers over the Macro Button.
  • Pressed Picture - the picture shown when the mouse presses the Macro Button.

Process

  1. Select a View on the left hand side.
  2. Select a Button from the Data Table on the right.
  3. Select Edit from the Menu Bar.
  4. Select one of the upload picture buttons.
  5. Chose a picture to upload and select Open.
  6. The picture will be uploaded and shown.
If you upload a picture again the previous image will be removed from the CPQ template.

Re-ordering Buttons

Buttons can be re-ordered in the Menu Bar by using the View Buttons View.

Use the Move Up and Move Down arrows on the Menu Bar to move the selected button up or down.

Data Storage

Button data is stored in the Group Table called Macros.

Button permissions are stored in the Group Table called MacroPermissions.
