The Dashboard Project is a generic dashboard view. The main purpose of a dashboard is to navigate between Views. You can think of a Dashboard as a sub-menu.
For example, Admin Panel is a dashboard under the main Dashboard. This acts as a sub-menu for all the administration Views.
A dashboard's main way of navigating to Views is by using its Dashboard Buttons. Dashboard Buttons are exactly like menu buttons, apart from the way they look.
Like Menu Buttons, you can enter a new View, specify a Macro to run and choose what View you are navigating to. The only main difference is when and how they appear.
Dashboard Buttons will only show for a user that has been given permissions to that button. They will not show based on any other information, like Project Transitions and Operations.
You can have as many Dashboard Buttons as you want. When the number of buttons exceeds the number of controls, additional pages will be created. You can navigate these pages with the controls on the top right of the View.
